Tanzania is official.

I have officially signed us both up for Tanzania and paid the deposits, so we're pretty much set at this point. The dates will be from August 25 through September 15th, at which point Sarah will head back to London and I will stay eight more days to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

It looks like most people make their connecting flight in Amsterdam and then head to Kilimanjaro from there, but we are stopping in London first to drop off a lot of our stuff (since we will be living there for three months), so it looks like we are going to have to connect in Nairobi. The U.S State Department has actually issued a travel warning for Nairobi, so I'm going to try to get a really close connecting flight, and we won't be leaving the airport. As long as we stay in the airport, we will be fine -- which is a shame because I would love the opportunity to explore, but it just isn't a good idea right now.

It will be around a 12 hour flight to London, and then a 25 hour flight to Tanzania. Ouch.
