Lessons everywhere

I plan to spend a lot of my time this summer learning from many disciplines, but the one I'm most excited about is chess. I've been away from chess for a long time now and can't wait to get back into the fold. Harvard has one of the most active academic chess clubs in the country, and people (students and non-students alike) meet every day right in the square to play in front of the Au Bon Pain bakery. I plan to do the same. I'm budgeting my time for one hour per day studying piano, one hour per day studying chess, and at least one hour per day rowing the Charles River or getting another local flavor of exercise. I have a once-per-week chess instruction meeting set up with the current president of the club, and will be scheduling something similar for piano. I can't wait! I have been too busy for outside hobbies for the past six months, and it will be nice to have a little bit of fun this summer.

I'm glad you are taking time for these activities - especially piano!

Love you,
