Cesky Krumlov

After the concentration camp and the bone church, I was ready for a little pick-me-up. We had a personal driver pick us up in Prague and drive us all the way into Vienna. It's not a bad way to travel, and it allowed us to stop for a few hours in the most quaint, charming, Thomas-Kinkade-would-gag Czech town of Cesky Krumlov.
A town of 15,000, Rick Steves calls it "an enchanting town lost in a time warp." They used to be a n incredibly rich silver mining town, so this tiny town has this massive cathedral that looks out of place , yet doesn't.

The highlight of that day though was the first castle I've ever seen containing bear pits. Unfortunately the bears weren't out today, but there they were on either side of the draw bridge -- two large bear pits.

After this, we made it in to Austria -- the place I've been looking most forward to in all of Europe. I'm so excited I can barely contain my excitement, but that will have to wait for tomorrow. I'm exhausted.
