Changing of the guard was meh.

After living here for three months and still not seeing the changing of the guard, I decided it should be checked off the 'ol tourism checklist and so I made my way outside for the first time in days, and we made our way over to Buckingham Palace. It was great to go for a sunny walk (although cold) but the changing was a waste of time. These days, they march back behind the gates and practically hide from everyone while they do their rituals. I was expecting for it to take place out front, since that was all blocked off to pedestrians. It was a bit of a letdown, so I'm glad I saw the queen coming back from opening parliament as that was more of what I was expecting in terms of pageantry in front of the Palace.
