Happy One Year Anniversary!

Well, here we are. It has been exactly one year since I made my first post announcing my plans to nobody and opening this can of worms that now sees a fair number of readers. Man, the experiences. What a year. Just look at that list of cities. It doesn't even seem real. How could that be possible?

It has really changed my perceptions, too...just like I'd hoped it would. I finally feel ready to settle down for awhile, and I was wondering when that would come. I always though I'd never be ready for children because I'd never want to make that kind of serious commitment. I'd always want to be able to just pick up and head to Zanzibar just because I couldn't point to it on a map. But after a year of being a nut case, I feel ready for a home to call my own and a stable existence. It only took 26 years.

Not that I'm really ready to have kids... I still feel the need to get the financial house in order and I have some goals there I really want to hit first, but I have now been to 180 cities in 15 different countries, so I think I could make it ten years or so with trips to the city park, grandma's, and maybe the occasional Six Flags Over Texas. When I look at myself during summer in Cambridge, this change really happened quick.

Anyway, that's enough of that. I want to thank you all for the wonderful year. It has been a lot of fun, and I'm so happy that so many people started reading. It has been a blast getting e-mails and talking with some of you, so thank you!
