York

York was a fun weekend trip (last weekend). It too has been a settlement since Roman times, and boasts one of the largest cathedrals in the world. You can go underneath it and see it's Roman foundation and the walls of the Norman church underneath today's impressive structure. It also has its city walls intact, which made for a fun dayhike.

On our last night, we came here to listen to Handel's Messiah in it's entirety. I don't think I'll ever listen to it the same way again.
