Success in Seward

Seward, Alaska. The waters were calm, and the sky was clear today, thus we were able to get all the way out of the bay and over to a calving glacier. As fun as that was, the highlight was a new experience for me, which was when a group of porpoises came out behind us and started playing in the wake of our boat.
They look a lot like miniature Orca whales, and they're great at surfing. We saw just about everything today, including humpback whales.

The drive in was every bit as breathtaking as the main attraction. The Seward Highway from Anchorage is rated as one of the top ten most scenic byways in America. Along the way, we stopped at the Alyeska ski resort and took a gondola to the top of the mountain.
